Financial Controller wanted in Hemel Hempstead

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller looking for their next role supporting an established and dynamic business.

During a period of growth, our client is expanding and require additional support leading the finance function and making improvements to robust processes and financial controls.

 

About the role:

Our client is looking for an articulate and detail oriented Financial Controller who is more than just a number cruncher. You will be a crucial part of the business providing accurate and timely financial reporting, developing and managing budgets, as well as creating financial forecasts to help with planning and decision-making. Strong analytical skills are a must, as is good data presentation and interpretation skills.

 

You will lead a small finance team ensuring the accuracy of their work, as well as working closely with the senior leadership team, with a direct report to the business owners, providing financial visibility and suggestions for improvements and growth.

This is an ideal role for a commercially experienced self-starter who has high levels of discipline and focus, who likes variety and who relishes working in an environment where they can make a real impact on the group’s success.

 

Your expertise should include:

  • Experience with stock management/margin analysis/stock system

  • Producing insightful management reports for presentation to the leadership team

  • Proficiency in presenting financial and commercial information to the owners and leadership team

  • Managing cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control

  • Improving processes and financial controls,

  • Leading and managing a small finance team

  • Experienced excel user including pivots, sumifs and graphs, data modelling

  • Experience with Intact X-Line is ideal but not essential (ideally you have experience with Xero/QuickBooks as well)

  • Experience working with an ERP system is preferred and experience implementing a system change previously would be beneficial

  • Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACMA/FCCA/ICAEW) or QBE (5+years)

  • Adhering to accounting standards and regulations, such as those set by HMRC and Companies House.

  • A confident communicator with strong leadership presence and commercial acumen.

     

  • SALARY: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum depending on experience

  • LOCATION: Hemel Hempstead (100% Office Based)

  • JOB TYPE: Full Time, employed

  • HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
